I have just discovered this great tool for calculating your own ecological footprint. What is particularly good about this site is that it gives you a relative indication of your footprint versus other people in Australia and then more broadly in our world.
Natalie says that the calculator has some great tips too:
There are plenty of great tips for how you can reduce your impact too. Have a go and see how your own day‑to‑day activities feed into the calculation. The results can be a rather startling - I have certainly got to get on my bike and let the car rest some more!!!
Get your mates to do it and compare your scores.
That’s a great calculator - and there are others around too. WWF partner Climate Friendly provide a number of calculators for working out how much CO2 running flights and car(s) emit - and of course they also provide the option to offset those emissions.
The EPA also have a greenhouse gas calculator, and another for your car. The calculators are a just two of a number of eco-footprint calculators that they provide.
If you’re a business, the ABGR Rating Calculator might be useful - for more information contact the ABGR program, or if you’re in Sydney, contact the 3CBDs Greenhouse Initiative.
