Enjoy Earth Hour with your friends and family

If you live in Sydney, you might have heard about Earth Hour.

The basic gist is this: at 7:30pm on 31 March 2007, Sydney will turn its lights off for one hour.

Sign up and turning your lights off - and participate in an event on the night.

A number of folks have started to organise events to celebrate Earth Hour - that link goes to a listing of public events, searchable by post code.

But if you can’t find an event that suits you, or you’re just keen to celebrate in your own way, why not organise your own Earth Hour party?

P.S. Don’t forget to take part in our “60 things to do in the dark” competition - check the banner of the site for more details.

Currently there is no Queensland Earth Hour. But, I hope Earth hour goes national. Its such a great event and i would love to be part of it. The photos from Sydney are amazing.

The Earth Hour website FAQs page hints at an international event next year:

“We are currently planning for the next Earth Hour and are considering a date late March/early April in 2008 for Earth Hour internationally.”

Apparently more info coming May 2007. Looks promising!
